สมการพหุนาม
ให้ $f(x)=x^4-x^3+8ax^2-ax+a^2$ จงหาจำนวนจริง a ทั้งหมดซึ่งทำใหัสมการ f(x)=0 มีรากเป็นจำนวนจริงบวกต่างกัน 4 ตัว

\[ \frac{p(x)}{q(x)}-\frac{p(x+1)}{q(x+1)}=\frac{1}{x(x+2)} \] Once one observes that \[ \frac{1}{x(x+2)} = \frac{1}{2x}-\frac{1}{2(x+2)} = \big( \frac{1}{2x}+\frac{1}{2(x+1)}\big) - \big( \frac{1}{2(x+1)}+\frac{1}{2(x+2)}\big) \] it becomes clear that $(P,Q) = (2x+1,2x^2+2x)$ is a good example. It is more interesting to determine all the pairs $(P,Q)$ which satisfy the identity. In fact, this is not very hard either. The following lemma will be useful, and is a good exercise in Algebra. Note that $P(x)/Q(x)$ above is often called a "rational" function. The set of all rational functions $P(x)/Q(x)$ with coefficients in $\mathbb{R}$ is denoted $\mathbb{R}(x)$. (Note the curly parentheses instead of edgy brackets.) อ้างอิง:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartic...e_of_the_roots First of all, $a$ must be positive to rule out all the non-positive roots. Then, we require $\Delta>0, P<0, D<0$ to make sure that $f$ has all four distinct positive real roots. On the other hand, if $f$ has all four positive real roots, then $a>0, \Delta >0, P<0, D<0$. Hence, the condition is necessary and sufficient. Plugging the coefficients in, we will obtain the necessary and sufficient condition on $a$. Please ask me if any of above is unclear, or you need further explanation or even illustration! I will be more than pleased to help na krub.
